Week 81 - Laguna de la Nueva Capital

Hey there guys!! Great AND stressful week!!!

To start it off we had a a baptism this week!! His name is Emanuel, and hes 13 years old. His story is pretty interesting. Emanuel lives with his Aunt and Uncle who are members, and the all of his extended family are also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Emanuel grew up since he was a baby living with different aunts and uncles because he dad never knew him and his mom, who never was baptized as a member, died when he was 4 years old. Currently due to other struggles with a lot of his family, many have gone inactive in the church. Emanuel Always had the question of where his mother had gone and why the trial had to come to him. He was never baptized at a younger age because his once strong and faithful aunt and uncle had marriage issues, and it affected their home life. Well he decided one day to go to church on his own, and wanted to be taught by the missionaries about how he could one day see his mother again. After learning about Gods plan of Happiness that he has for each and every one of us,  and about how our purpose in this life is to learn to return with our heavenly father and that through Jesus Christ and his Atoning Sacrifice, he made it possible to be with our families forever. This drove him to act and have the desire to be baptized.

His conversion isnt even the best part. Because he had the desire to act, and because we have been able to visit with the whole family to help with their struggles, the family has returned to the church. They still have their struggles, but they are healing pains that were made. That's what this gospels about. It brings happiness, gives hope to the hopeless, helps us understand what our purpose is in this life and that we have a loving Heavenly Father who is always there for us. We also can learn about how one positive influence can bless others.

Today we had a pretty "meme" P-Day. We went to a place called the "Nueva Capital", which is the new capital, but don't let the name mislead you. Actually its kinda dangerous, very third world area, but there are missionaries assigned there so we decided to go visit the famous "Lagoon" that's at the very very top of the mountain. I don't know why, but in my head I imagined like a lake on the top of an inactive volcano, but I was sadly mistaken. It was just a dirty little pond. but after the adventure up the mountain for a few hours, it was pretty funny. At one point we saw the entire city disappear into rain, and it was coming towards us, so we decided to pray since we were on top of the mount ;) and Heavenly Father answered the prayers. It was pretty cool after all. I took a ton of pics and videos, and my comp made a little video. Hope y'all enjoy!!
